Welcome to the Curative Co. blog, where we will share a little bit more about our process and our lives as entrepreneurs, creatives, web designers, and business owners. We look forward to interacting with you more as we get this business underway, but for now we though we would take a moment to introduce ourselves:
This is Lauren. She is the owner and founder of Curative Co. But that is just her day job. She is also a remarkably talented singer/songwriter who crafts melodious treasures for her audience. She graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, with a BFA in Art and Design. Not one to be put into a proverbial box, Lauren also has many other interests that influence her work and her style. In her free time you might find Lauren tending her vegetable garden, feeding her chickens, or planning her bee hive construction. Originally from Ventura, CA, Lauren has an undying love for the seaside and for sunshine.
This is Sara. She is an entrepreneur at heart, but she too has another day job. For now she is a substitute teacher and enjoys the work, but in the fall of this year she will attend UCLA to pursue her teaching credential and master's degree in education. She enjoys the energy and humor of adolescents but is always looking for creative outlets, and is the main author of this blog (with lots of input from Lauren). For Sara inspiration comes through good conversation, clever wit, and thought provoking literature. She hails from Bakersfield, CA and feels that the fertile soil there nourished her well, despite the reputation of the city.
Lauren and Sara met in the spring of 2009 in San Salvador, El Salvador. It turns out that their meeting in central America was only the beginning of their friendship, and four years later they are kindred spirits. It is our belief that like-minded friends make the best business partners.
Curative Co. is really the product of Lauren's talents and experiences paired in beautiful coordination. In the fall of 2012 Lauren decided to quit her then "day job" to pursue a career in music and in freelance graphic design. This was the foundation of Curative Co, which seeks to marry both ingenuity in business with the creative industry, when appropriate. Sara is the daughter of a small business owner and has always had an interest in developing businesses, as well as in lovely communication styles. Lauren and Sara decided to combine forces to make Curative Co. a real business, and in March 2013 we had a business license and a plan to make a difference for small businesses and fledgling musicians alike.
